Grunge Flannel DIY πŸ‘ŠπŸ»

Ok so I know I am not the only one obsessing over the bleached bottom flannel. I have seen them floating around insta shops and Pinterest since, last year maybe? I dunno maybe longer, either way I’m still loving it. I finally got around to diy’ing one. There are plenty of cool etsy shops that sell these if you aren’t feeling up to it but this is a pretty simple project.

First get a flannel, thrift stores or kid section clearance racks, or one of you (or your hubbys bc this look is good oversized too) I have one-to-many flannels so I just grabbed one from my closet.

Tie the bottom half with a rubber band, sleeves included, go up as high as you want the bleach to go.

My bleach mixture was approximately 3:1 with water. Lay the flannel over into the liquid stopping right at the band. Mine sat in the bleach 15-20 minutes. Darker color shirts may take a little longer and also the longer it sits the whiter the bottom half will get so the time pretty much depends on the look you’re after. When you take it out step outside and rinse it really well to help ensure the bleach not spreading in the washer. I held it by the tag so that I could rinse downward with the hosepipe. Once it’s rinsed out good toss it in the washer for a quick wash. And that’s it πŸ‘ŒπŸ» easy peezy lemon squeezey guy (yes I am quoting Kung Fu Panda)
