bittersweet goodbye ๐Ÿ

Well it is officially official, we closed on our home today. We have been so busy trying to renovate the farmhouse, pack, move out, and clean up that we never really got to take in what all was happening.

The home we just sold is where Cliff grew up. We bought it from his parents about 5 years ago. When we bought it we started slowly renovating it and worked a few years until the entire home had been completely redone. We’ve lived right up the hill from Mawmaw and Pawpaw, which is definitely the most emotional part for all of us, we’ve brought home 2 little boys to this house. If only those walls could talk but thank goodness they can’t ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ™ˆ!!!! Logan said he’ll miss catching lizards and climbing trees the most. I’ll definitely miss our front porch and yard, even though we’ll have all of that when we build, those are some favorites about this home. We are only about 2 miles down the road now so we are still close to the grands but it’s not that golf cart ride like we’re all use to.

The Sunday before last Cliff and I moved a load of furniture. That was the first time I got a little choked up, watching him back the trailer up to me standing at the back door for us to move our first load together. Thinking about “leaving” mawmaw and pawpaw usually tears me up. Then the very last night we were completely moved out and cleaned up but didn’t have hot water at the farmhouse so we all came back to shower. That was the last time we knew we’d walk through those doors, that was definitely bittersweet. Layton got upset the first 2 nights. Once we started to get sleepy he was ready to leave the farmhouse and go home. Explaining to him that isn’t our home anymore was tough as tears poured down his face “I want to go to the other home, my home, not the farmhome”

We’re looking forward to our new adventure, our dream, and all that it holds, but we will always miss and remember this one.

Telling our rooms goodbye and hoping their new owners love them like we did ๐Ÿ’™
